Next Friend is the inside story of a foster family. Nikki is a tough case at sixteen, after a number of both foster and adoptive placements. Foster parenting is the hardest job the author has ever done—in a world that doesn't understand foster care. In this book she shares her struggles, mistakes and successes.
About the Author
Anne Southworth is a librarian, lawyer and advocate for children in the juvenile justice system. She's been active in a number of community groups and is currently practicing law as a Guardian ad Litem for kids in the Cuyahoga County (Ohio) Juvenile Court.
